Marksgate Music Festival

Through a recent listening campaign, we engaged with young people to understand their interests and aspirations. Many expressed a strong desire for performing arts opportunities, including learning instruments, dancing, and singing. In response, we launched the ‘Marksgate Music Festival’ in October 2021. The festival featured a series of workshops, such as dance, African drumming, and DJ skills. Over 100 children between the ages of 6 and 14 attended the festival. Building on its success, we collaborated with Dagenham Eagles and High Voltage Performing Arts to organize another festival during Easter, offering additional workshops on singing, diverse percussions, and brass instruments. This time, we had the pleasure of welcoming 200 children.
