About Us.
On The Rock International Ministries is a
Pentecostal Church based in Marks Gate.
Our mission is to create a safe and thriving community by building relationships with residents and local organizations. Led by Reverend Cecilia, our dedicated team is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of people in Marks Gate and beyond.
Our Journey
Reverend Cecilia and her family moved to Marks Gate in 2002. Shortly after their arrival, they experienced firsthand the challenges and safety concerns in the area. Witnessing the theft of vehicles and vandalism of personal property, they realized the need for change. The community was plagued by antisocial behavior, with young children being exploited by older individuals.
Building Safe Spaces
In response to these issues, our church took the initiative to build relationships and create safe spaces for people to come together. We listened to concerned parents worried about their children's safety and listened to children who felt there was nothing to do in the area. One of our members recalls a time when Padnall Hall provided a space for young people to record music and enjoy activities like table tennis. Unfortunately, the closure of Padnall Hall led to unforeseen consequences.
Expanding Opportunities
We are now focused on providing music tuition to children in Marks Gate. With options like piano, drums, and guitar, as well as dance and vocal lessons, we aim to nurture their artistic talents. Through our database of 100 families who have attended our music festival and expressed interest in these lessons, we are actively seeking funding and partnerships with organizations to make this initiative a reality. Our ideal location for these lessons is Padnall Hall, which is conveniently located within walking distance for many of the children we work with and close to Padnall Court, where we hosted our first Fun Day.
